Sacha Arsenault. Why in general the schools which claim to be Christians abandon God more and more? Such is my question. I did not want that this essay is tainted with an unhealthy pride, but I tried to know the truth. Being human, I confess that it asked for some battle and that I have necessarily to start from it to God to find properly what is true. I have faith in God. In reality, I did not know answer, but it worked extremely inside of me. I wondered if it was that when they are really applied to analyse well, to criticise and to reason (it is more applied in colleges of higher education in theology) they succeed habitually in realising that they are in error about God Word and they move away from it later. On the contrary, by making this research, I was deeply touched by several aspects which I had not pointed out in my own life and that risked, if I went on so, getting stuck more. Besides, this study even moved away doubts which often returned to me to mind. Read this with honesty and examine yourselves yourlself, to try to please the Lord and to become more and more as he wants him. A tremendous number of biblical passages are written there, even if the text takes so a more condensed appearance, so that it is the God Word that works in you. However, some points are separated, so that there is clarity more, but in reality, these interlace tremendously between them in everyday life. He is put of the front there the example which left us the history of the United States, then the voluntary rebellion regarding God, the means of seductions and finally, what people of the Christian schools should make to be in the good way. Gettysburg, Pennsylvania 17325 (717) 337-6565. Request information Back to top В©2017 Gettysburg College. All Rights Reserved. There is it a few hundred years, the upper education of the United States was almost entirely private and Christian. Of course, she was not necessarily Christian in common sense at present when this type of schools includes the study of faith and of Bible courts. On the contrary, these were nevertheless founded by churches, run by clergy offices and had to have students linked up with Christian churches. However, during American civil war from 1861 till 1865, the federal government undertook a huge legislation, Land Grant College Act, to finance the establishment of training colleges. This had as first purpose to promote scientific methods to agriculture which would be then very useful. · GETTYSBURG, Pa. (AP) — On the second day of fighting at Gettysburg, Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee listened to scouting reports, scanned the battlefield. Then, these State schools enlarged their horizons by teaching several other vocations as engineering, training of the professors, mechanical arts. Between 1862 and 1910, the sudden development of a big number of State schools caused serious financial problems in the upper Christian deprived education. John has it pretty much exactly right. For starters, we should note that the two authors mentioned by name in the post, Guelzo and Oates, are both historians. Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation: The End of Slavery in America by Allen Guelzo. This book is a history of the genesis, issuance, and aftermath of President. Dr. Allen C. Guelzo is the Henry R. Luce Professor of the Civil War Era, and Director of Civil War Era Studies at Gettysburg College. He is the author of Abraham. The income of this last was mainly based on the number of inscriptions, supports it of churches and donations. This one therefore went down by many given the migration of the pupils towards the richer State schools and later, the money of some churches which rather served for maintaining the Christian campuses of the secular schools. Besides, having fewer finances, she could not have to be paid of teachers a lot Christian and admitted as to be being the upper quality, because the State gave them a bigger wage and the pious professors, ready to work for God with few wage is rare. As negative consequences, it led some more pupils towards the establishments of education of State and financial donations (these coming not only from churches) to schools are predominantly sent towards those of the government since they seemed to get more prestige. This precarious situation of the Christian schools made sure, as an airport company, that they could not take the liberty of having too many empty seats without being in danger to close. However, the number of school inscriptions augments not only incomes, but also costs. As Melissa Morris-Olson wrote in 1997: “The increase of inscriptions to secondary schools and universities necessarily did not result in improvements at the level of financial conditions. ” Reason is that not being able to be very fixed a quota, these private schools were in the obligation to accept the students need more maintenance. Then sadly, these schools with not enough money and while receiving least donations which had to take care of such pupils. All that therefore brought the upper deprived education Christian of the United States in a spiral which ran it straight in the chasm. Further to the appearance of State schools producing the progressive disintegration of the Christian schools, a very big part of these reacted of three ways. Firstly, they turned to new resources. In order to do that, they however had to attenuate someone of their particular beliefs and employ compromise. Secondly, they turned to new forms of leaders: philanthropists in deep pockets as administrators and academics in administration instead of men of clergy as president. Thirdly, they turned to new forms of professionalism. To have more prestiges, their allegiance became towards their guild or professional discipline before being towards the church which had founded it. That's how schools as Harvard, Princeton and Yale put God aside. However, the lord Jesus Christ Lui-même said: “without me, you can make nothing”. Following this text, with the aid of this case in point that the United States are, will be examined reasons which lead so many schools to abandon God. Voluntary rebellion. By examining American history, they point out that it is true that in his beginning, there was a tremendous number of schools claiming to be Christians. However, I assume that a good many of between them included several non-saving, but of name Christians only. It seems to me rather probable since it was "fashion" to be a religious Christian in this epoch and that it is writes:“ because open sea is the door and ample the way is who lead to iniquity, and there is a lot who enter it. Because narrow is the door and narrowed the way which lead to life, and there is not much which find it. ” On the contrary, it does not prevent that he had to have a good many of true Christians there, but several were cooled down. Of course, people being very religious, they prayed, they went to the church and they followed several strict rules, but it was especially made to be formalism. He well is to obey God laws. (I search you from the bottom of my heart; do not let me mislay far from your command! I gripped your word in my heart, not to sin against you. What therefore, will we sin, because we are not under law, but under favour? Not at all!). to be legalist. It is however bad to found our life on some rules rather than on Jesus Christ: the observance of law cannot save us from Hell. (But all those who become attached to the writings of law, are under curse, since he is writes: Accursed is whoever do not persist to make all things which are written in the book of law! And that no one is justified in front of God by law, it is obvious; because: The righteous man will live by faith. );some follow these in a hypocritical way to seem good while skipping what is more important (“misfortune to you, copyists and hypocritical prigs, because you pay the tithe of the mint, of the dill and of the cumin, and you neglect the most important things of law, justice, mercy and fidelity. It was necessary to make these things and not to skip those. ” ); lazy people will content themselves with the minimum, not being enlivened by an ardour for the Lord; finally, they become unhappy because these are only pressures if it is not made in first because of Him. People often have tendency to make of this bad way instead of serving the Lord to please Him, by recognition for all its marvellous donations and by love for Him (he is very also to act by fear of God, because our situation towards Him is as a child who needs to be corrected, since he does not have tendency to obey only because he loves his parents, for then, by being run to the good, to learn to act rather for love, what we will not however be able to attain perfectly on Earth:. Make favours always for any things to God the Father, in the name of our lord Jesus Christ. Submit some to others for fear of God. Fear is not in love, but perfect love bans fear; because fear assumes a punishment, and the one who fears am not improved in love. In fact, this formalism epidemic generalised which touched the Christian schools of the United States, is not an unique case. Let us take, for example, the people of Israel of the time of Malachie. This one followed the prescriptions of their fathers, but at the very least and without devoting itself entirely to the Lord. He resulted from it, that the people became tired to try to follow the Eternal, because it did not give positive results. Then, the Israelites started to doubt the love of God towards them since they did not understand that the way they act irritated the Lord. However, to Him in its best love, explains them their problem: “You say: What gets tired! and you despise her, says the Eternal of armies, and you bring what was hidden, what is lame and ill; then you introduce offertory! Will I agree him of your hands? said the Eternal. ” They were in error, because they searched their good in first instead of being ready to make sacrifices to obey the Lord. He is writes: “Make your delight of the Eternal, And he will give you what your heart wants. ” and not, wait that God gives you what pleases you, and then there enjoys Him. Formalism drove several schools to its loss and to react against it, there was tendency often, what is visible at present also, to turn to the other extreme. Considering that the observance of God laws is too hard, they lose heart and besides, being weary of hypocritical (described ci-high), it is abandoned to try to hang on to the only joy (they have only to think of the popular American, Billy Graham, who organises big agreeable meetings, gave 650 000 $ to the university of Vanderbilt, but who comes to dangerous compromises about God Word). They dance, they rent, they have a good time, but one flagrant disrespect for God sanctity. However, the Bible teaches that true joy does not come without this last:. How much I like your law! She is all day long the object of my meditation. [] your precepts are forever my inheritance, Because they are the joy of my heart. I lead my heart to practice your statutes, Always, till the end. I hate the undecided men, And I like your law. By leaving sanctity for joy, he results from it nevertheless iniquity. People of the Christian schools can choose to rebel, but God remains sovereign. It is well seen in this example of the Bible:. Because the heart of these people is hardened; they were hard of hearing of the ears, and they closed the eyes, for fear that they see the eyes, for fear that they hear the ears, for fear that they understand their court, for fear that they become a convert, and for fear that I cure them. He blinded the eyes, and hardened the heart, for fear that they see eyes, for fear that they understand the heart, for fear that they become a convert, and for fear that I cure them. The human beings who try to base their life on the only rules, as well as those who lean towards the research of the only joy are all, though opposed, on the dark way of insensitiveness. It is very dangerous to move away from God, even every baby not much. Of course, the Eternal can castigate the one whom he likes, so that he comes back in the good way, but if they are stubborn, they risk succumbing to temptation (“Stay up and pray, for fear that you fall in temptation; because mind is prompt, but the flesh is weak”). So, several schools claiming to be servants of the lord Jesus Christ (too many persons are so called in a dishonest and blasphemous way, let us pay attention that this is not our case), ended up abandoning him tremendously or completely, simply because those who were part of it were by indeed Christian or chose to move away progressively from generation in generation. In this research, it emerged from it that finances could often be a very good temptation to destroy the Christendom of schools (it is what besides arrived with a majority of the American schools, as explained on pages 2 and 3), because as he is writes: “No one can serve two masters; because, or he will hate the one, and like other one; or he will become attached to the one, and despise other one. You cannot serve God and Mammon. By studying the case of the United States, they point out that a very big part of the Christian schools deprived of advanced standing were taken in a dead end, a problem of money which augmented in spiral and led them straight to loss, humanly speaking. Instead of using this occasion to confide in God, to shout for help to Him, to ask him with plea round the clock and even to regret (admit that they are wrong), if it was necessary, of their bad rebel ways, several people became stronger, preferring acting with pride (“God resists the overproud persons, but he does the honour unassuming. ” ) They did not search God, but succeeded in resolving their financial problems in a rather efficient way without his assistant (see pages 2 and 3 of this text, fourth paragraph). And yet by examining the means which they used to regulate this difficulty, he is practically comical, but unhappier to see to what extent the man can put on thousand times more in the dough trough by trying to regulate himself his troubles. These turned away radically from the Lord by starting to come to compromises with others for a question of money. Said as it, it seems that it is very stupid to have abandoned God only for it, but in everyday reality, it arrives in a much more subtle way, so much more subtly and that is why there are so many people who are taken (there there, I plead you, do not close your ears, but examine, ask God to poll your hearts, to know if you are returned at this stage of compromises and pay attention, “Be sober, stay up; because the devil, your enemy, prowls as a roaring lion, searching who he will be able to devour. ”)"Compromised “ word means “arrangement in which mutual concessions are made. ” There is no compromise, in the sense which God would change, which it is possible to make with Him (“any very good favour and any perfect donation come upper, and go down from the Father of light, in whom there is neither variation, nor change shadow. ”) of course, if they cease of badly to act towards him, this one can regret of the trouble which he inflicted on us (“ if this nation about which I will have spoken, returns from its nastiness, I will also regret of the trouble that I thought to make him. ”) himself remains so the same by hating sin and by remaining prompt in mercy. “It is true that God left a room for manoeuvre in many things it is necessary to consider them, to ask them and to adjust Word. ”Nevertheless, let us not put aside this God Word: “As for those of outside, God will judge it. Remove therefore the villain of the middle of you. ”. Too many people please the devil by keeping silence facing the sin which dissatisfies the Lord while making believe that they act in interest of harmonisation of names, of peace, of differentiation, of progress, of nobility, of understanding, of very high behaviour, of unit, of love and of any other reason having the appearance to be good while being unfair. She is male this tolerance, often named liberalism, of things among us which go contrary to the clear prescriptions which God gave us:. And do not conform in the present century, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, so that you feel that the will of God is good, nice and perfect. I say therefore: Walk according to Mind, and do not fulfil desires of the flesh. [] And yet the writings of the flesh are obvious, they are: adultery, fornication, impurity, dissolution, idolatry, enchantment, enmity, quarrels, jealousy, animosity, disputes, divisions, sects, desires, murders, drinking, dissoluteness, and similar things. Too, you consider to be dead in sin, but living beings to God in Jesus Christ our Lord. That sin does not reign therefore in your lethal body, to obey it in its desires; do not deliver your members in sin, to be iniquity instruments; but devote yourselves to God, as of dead having become living, and dedicate your members to God, to be justice instruments. Refrain from any trouble appearance. etc. And yet several twist sense. (Because he will come one time when the men will not endure healthy doctrine, but where, eager to hear nice things, they will pile up of doctors according to their desires, And close the ear to tell the truth, and will turn to fables. And as he makes it in all his epistles, when he speaks to it about these things; among whom he is there of difficult to hear, that the persons ignorant and badly assured twist, as other writings, in their own iniquity. Then, under a misleading place setting, taken for peace and love, several Americans and many today's people conformed to the world, so-called to "attract “ them to Christ. Making so, they disobey directly God laws or at the rebound, by neglecting this passage of the Bible:“ That is why, if what I eat outrages my brother, I will never eat meat, not to outrage my brother. ” However, love isn't she in the truth. The ancient, in Kyria the elected representative and to her children, that I like in the truth, - and it is not myself who likes them, but also all those who knew truth, - [] And love consists in walking according to the command. It is there the command in which you must walk, as you learnt it from the beginning. We must make peace as much as it is possible (“ if he is able to make, and as much as he depends on you, have peace with all men. ”), without forgetting that he is also written:“ If I still pleased the men, I would not be Christ servant. ” It is normal that sinners despise us if we try to please God in first, to serve him and to follow the prescriptions. On the contrary, we who are saved by favour of God, act in our turn with a true love towards the losing:“ As without law, with those who are without law (though I am not without law regarding God, since I am under Christ law), to earn those who are without law. [] and I make it because of the Gospel, to have part there. ” Even if it is tempting for some to persevere in accusing it of their rebel ways towards God we must, with love and softness, evangelize them (“hate thrills quarrels, But love covers all errors. ”;“ But the fruit of Mind is charity, joy, peace, patience, goodness, love of the good, fidelity, softness, temperance; law is not against these things. ”) and then, we are in a spiritual war, do not let us enslave by the trouble. (Because it is not against the flesh and the blood that we have to fight, but against principalities, against powers, against princes of the darkness of this century, against spiritual powers of nastiness in the celestial places. And yet having been stamped by sin, you became slaves of justice. I speak according to the usage of the men, because of the infirmity of your flesh. Indeed, as well as you delivered your members to be of use for impurity and for injustice for iniquity, so deliver them now as slaves in justice for sanctity. and that it is possible to succeed in saying, as Paul, servant of the lord Jesus Christ, “I fought good battle, I finished running, I kept faith. However, a big number of people, impatient to receive God help or preferring keeping their sins, abandoned more and more their confidence in God to get the' "assistant “ of the world. It makes me think of the people of Israel who turned to idols to have the reinforcement instead of turning to the Eternal or else, in the decline of Saül. This one absolutely needed God help to earn a battle, but he got impatient so much arrival of the prophet Samuel whom he ended up making himself the sacrifice. This went contrary to God and therefore extremely dissatisfied him. Later, its sin cutting its communication with God, he is going to search assistant in the world (a sorceress in Endor), given that the Philistines threatened to wage war against Israel, instead of regretting. These types of compromise are far from being solution in problems and several American schools employing these sank more deeply and became very confused. By means of a long process (sometimes very long: Princeton could keep compulsory the time of chapel for his students up to the middle of the sixties), the Christian identity of places such as Grinnell, Oberlin and Amherst was gradually erased, to such an extent that it is almost impossible now for an individual to remember that these had had any religious links. As the history teaches him us, it is rare that it is visible outright. He is besides writes:“ But I fear that, as the snake enticed Eve by his trick, your thoughts also corrupt by turning away from the simplicity which is in Christ. A result of confusion is the loss of objective which should be aimed. Instead of living first with the aim of the God Kingdom, several people put grandiloquence first on other motives (“ But search firstly the kingdom of God and his justice, and all these things will be given to you over. ”) I will work out here on two who touch particularly the Christian schools, but there could be it several others. The first is to act for the students prioritairement. If a secondary school does not exist for the love of the Kingdom of heaven, he cannot hope that its students meet for the love of the Kingdom of heaven there. If it exists for the love of his students, person should not then be surprised that the students of such secondary school are there only that for their own needs. It is not for nothing that it is written to act not to please the men, but God:“ And whatever you make, make it willingly, as for the Lord, and not for the men”. The second is to act to give the highest education which is above all. It is a trap which habitually touches even more the advanced standing schools. He can result from it the acceptance of immorality, to augment knowledge. For example, an university in New Hampshire, Dartmouth. encourage the love of training and of discoveries to each of the members of its community. [] a resolution was taken by Dartmouth with the intention of improving the experiments of trainings, encouraging regular correlations so between its members of various communities [] including men and women of different statutes [] and various sexual orientations. He is therefore visible that confusion leads more the school to get stuck into the chasm of compromises which in its turn augments confusion and vice and overturned. Besides, the theology, which is'“ Study of religious questions founded mainly on the sacred texts, dogmas and tradition. ”, an obstacle to the Christian schools can become if God has no first place. Study being often only an intellectual effort, it can remain superficial and not touch the man deeply. Several professors can have big knowledge in theory, without dedicating their life therefore to God and having had practice of it. They will have tendency more to criticise God Word in a destroying way instead of making it in an advantageous way. As in Harvard Divinity School, in the Massachusetts which “desires to include this approach into theological [. ] education who struggles for including, assessing, criticising then asserting and putting into practice his specific traditions. ”, they will have dangerous tendency to lean on their own wisdom instead of God (“ Because the wisdom of this world is a madness in front of God”). God wants all place, but by putting grandiloquence too much on the taught subjects, the Christian schools often end up forgetting to prepare people for the service of the Lord, what is primordial. Often they stop in objective to teach without wondering what is the ultimate purpose of this education. For a Christian, the first motivation should be neither for people, nor for knowledge for itself, nor to be the most competitive in this or that job, nor for whatever it is of other than for God. The vainglory of this world passes, but the Eternal is It. “O depth of wealth, and of wisdom, and of knowledge of God! That his judgements are impenetrable, and that his ways are incomprehensible! [] because any things are of him, and by him, and for him: To him the glory in every century is! Amen!”. In the confusion due to all compromises caused by to insensitiveness, schools telling themselves Christians were more and more allowed to go up to date on thoughts of this world (“ that we are not any more small children, floating and taken here and there in any winds of doctrine, by the deceit of the men, and by their address to be enticed in a deceitful way”) which moved them away some more from God and led them even more deeply in the dough trough of insensitiveness. Instead of hanging on to tell the truth (“beloved, full of ardour to write you touching our common greeting, I considered necessary to make it, to urge you to fight for the faith which was once given to the saints. ”), people preferred trusting the ideas of this world, what led them straight to their loss. While having talks with philosophies of Germany from men as “Immanuel Kant, G. Hegel, F. Baur, Albretcht Ritschl and G. Schleiermacher” several reappraised the reliability of the Bible. Topped up in it, guess a major thought of the epoch of the decline of the American Christian schools which acted as catalyst in their abandonment of God. Of course, it is the theory of evolution put by the front by the publication of the book The origin of kinds of Charles Darwin in 1859. When Darwinism made burst the second scientific revolution, the Evangelical who had adopted the method which conciliated science with religion faced up a dilemma. If they kept their first commitment linked to autonomous scientific research, the foundation of Christian beliefs and theists seemed to be threatened. Moderates such as MCCOSH tried to institute an intervening period. However, for most the Evangelical Americans, commitment is in objective science or in religion was so strong and so strict conflict as they were forced in one of both positions compared (. ) However, in most schools, the current dissolution of Christian beliefs seems to have been made in a gradual way. The list of society thoughts is long and there is so a lot who can influence us at present, even if we still do not realise it. Let us work out here on someone of ideas of this world which can be subtle and that our Christian schools risk adopting if they do not confide entirely in God. So, the pupils often risk studying not by desire to act in the best way possible in the place where the Lord put them, but since a non-Christian, “by fear that without certificate they have only to hope of their life to meet in the minimum wage”. So, materialism has, to see notes at the bottom of page on this subject, and another blight for many is. When people become too much satisfied and confident in their material resources, several put God aside. Personally, my request is Lord give me enough so that I do not curse you, but not too much so that I do not forget you. Besides, people being often tried to opt for easiness, the Christians also can start to follow no more God prescriptions when he sees them as pressures, even if the lord Jesus Christ said: “Come to me, to you all who are tired and charged, and I will relieve you. Take responsibility for my yoke, and learn from me, because I am soft and unassuming of heart, and you will find the rest of your souls; because my yoke is easy, and my light burden. ”Christian schools acting in that way attract more people, but mediocrity becomes established there therefore. Moreover. there is this cultural dilemma []; a sensitivity postmoderne “full of disengagement” who hopes only for entertainment, which remains perplexed in front of working requests and that receives pound reading or use of reasoning as him being also unknown as face hidden from the moon. He gave us a generation which is meant to be deeply anchored in “consumption, entertainment and recognition of its rights. If the norms of the Christian schools do not fall at the level of the more popular institutions, these risk seeming mad to the eyes of the world. Besides, some people support that if schools make decisions, because of rules, instead of the students, these last will not be able to develop authentic virtue. So, these points of view often procreate what points out Allen Guelzo, professor of the university of Gettysburg:. Put to one side my personal experience of Christian life, which wants that rebuffs are expensive and that culture is powerful. I saw my own eyes a deplorable tendency which have the evangelical Christians as for their behaviours, knowing that their catches of positions only brought them strange looks and marginalization on behalf of predominant culture, they discover then a way of rationalising these behaviours which they have. It is unhappy to see that the world can have a huge hold on the Christians if they do not reject it of them. However, instead of dropping the good regulations since in the bottom, they are thought is too difficult or expensive, they should keep them. Because these are not only limitative, but also allow to teach the beauty of Christian life; not to outrage the weakest; because it is good to follow God even if the world despises us; because even if people, especially students, follow them without understanding all their reasons to be, it allows them to develop such an important virtue of submission towards authorities (“also, young people, be subjected to ancient, and subjecting you every some to others, put on humility; because God resists the overproud persons, but he does the honour unassuming. ” ) And yet popular thought not to victimise the freedom of other one, by preventing it from making what pleases it, can become a trap for the Christian schools. However, it is to point out that this last idea of our culture is only a phantasm, because this one really does not search freedom since in reality, as mentioned on the page 13 (last quotation), it marginalises those who are not part of the circle of the thinkable. She strives much more towards what appears to be the easiest. As for people having report to the Christian schools, I repeat it, these have to pay attention not to be enslaved to the world, but to God. It is also to point out that the relativism seeps through tremendously in Christian thought and of course, in schools. Often, they even do not realise it. Stress the idea of the truth and have recklessness to proclaim that some ideas are wrong to a culture where the relativism is the omnipresent ideology and to an academy where this ideology is a dogma of size, means to be any more no interest for these. It is the common good today to say that other one has his truth and me mine or to hear that it is relating. To us who are Christian sums tried to make concessions to declare the truth and the relativism by suggesting that the education of truth, of God Word, is limited without study (search and please include) essential of beliefs which are not true. They often argue this way of seeing by saying that a pupil receiving only the education of the truth from a respectable professor, will accept it without thinking and his intellectual development will cease in this point. Later, when this one will be confronted with convincing arguments against the truth which he received naively, this one will crumble away facing doubts. It would therefore be better that he is already confronted in his Christian school with all different points of view, so that he could detect the truth himself and so internalise him so that he does not move away from it. Nevertheless, the problem with this idea is that it is wrong to say that the truth is blindingly obvious and that a pupil who receives it with all other possibilities will possibly be able to receive it freely. Lies are dangerous and seductive. “We forgot what all knew at some some point: that the truth is a precious thing, a thing which it is necessary to cherish, to defend enthusiastically and what it is necessary to marry in a confident way. There is no reason to be bothered there. (I keep my foot far from every bad way, to keep your word. I do not move away from your laws, Because it is you who teach me. That your words are soft in my palace, More than the honey in my mouth! By your prescriptions I become clever, Also I hate any lie way. Your word is a lamp with my feet, And a light on my track. Because God did not give us a mind of bashfulness, but of force, of charity and of caution. here are some biblical advice about education:. Teach the preschooler according to the way which he must follow; even if he will have become old, he will not move away from it. Strain your ear, and listen to the words of the sages; apply your heart to my science. Because it is good that you keep them inside of you, and that they remain present on your lips. I make heard him to you to yourself today, so that your confidence is in the Eternal. I have not already written for you on advice and on science, to teach you of sure things, words of the truth; so that you answer by words of the truth those who consult you?). It is good to tell the pupils of deceiving of the misconceptions of this world, but not to take the risk of explaining them all alternatives, including the truth, as though they were at the same level, so that they could learn to think by them - even. We often have tendency to support us on our wisdom instead of putting our faith completely in God (“Confide in the Eternal of all your heart, And do not support you on your wisdom”). It is good to ask questions, but we cannot reappraise everything (as for example, the reliability of God Word) and we must fight doubt (since the beginning of the world the clever uses this for our loss. The snake was the most shrewd of all animals of fields, whom the Eternal God had made. He says to the woman: God indeed said: You will not eat all trees of the garden?;. And if somebody of you lacks wisdom, that he asks for it God, who gives to all liberally, without reproach, and it will be given to him. But that he asks with faith, without doubting; because the one who doubts, is similar in the stream of the sea which is agitated by the wind and tossed around here and there. That such man, indeed, does not expect to receive something of the Lord. The man whose heart is shared, is unstable in all his ways. Several people receive pejoratively that the Christian schools are as bubbles which do not represent the reality of this world. So, they try to favour one more grand opening of mind, approach, towards the different cultures encircling them. However, it is completely correct that the Christians are not as others: “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its taste, with what it will be salted? It is only worth to be thrown out, and milled with feet by the men. ” However, these have not to become withdrawn on themselves and search their own comfort, but aim every day, the évangélisation in the world by forming the God children in the truth(I do not ask you to remove them from the world, but to preserve them from the clever. They are not the world, as I am not the world. Sanctify them by your truth; your word is the truth. And Jesus, going up, spoke them and says to them: Any power was given to me in the sky and on the earth; go therefore and teach all nations, calling them in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Ghost, And learning them to them to keep all that I ordered to you; and here I am with you every day till the purpose of the world. Amen!). Let us not act with bashfulness, it is wrong to say that everything is relating, let us not try to bring back all God wonders to the rational, but let us be proud in God:“ that the one who glories, glories in the Lord. In short, pride, temptations, compromises which go contrary to God and his command, confusion and then influential thoughts of this world are all reasons, only or raveled, of the seduction of several Christian schools towards the trouble. “Adulteries that you are! do not you know that the love of the world is enmity against God? That therefore who wants to be friend of the world becomes God enemy. Until now, this text describes especially the negative portrait of what arrives with a majority of the Christian schools. It is not because God is unable to keep them in the good way, but it is rather than having given us freedom to choose between him or the trouble, it is our sins which move us away from him. Practically, see this text as a bet in guard. Do not say in a bumptious way that it will not arrive at you (remember the apostle Pierre who said to the lord Jesus Christ that even at the price of his life, he would not disavow him; shortly after, the flesh being weak, this one disavowed him three times in succession; it is while he met the gaze of the Saviour and remembering his word, he started to mourn his sin bitterly). If you have something to reproach for you, regret. (Because, although I sadden you by my letter, I do not regret of it, even if I regretted of it, because I see that this letter saddened you, although for a little of time. Now I am delighted, that you were saddened, but of what your sadness carried in the repentance to you; because you were saddened according to God, so that you received no damage of our part. Because the sadness which is according to God, produces a repentance with greeting, and of that they never regret; rather than the sadness of the world produces death. Because here the same sadness according to God, what an eagerness it did not produce in you! What excuses, what an indignation, what a fear, what desires, what an ardour, what a punishment! You showed in all respects that you are pure in this affair. Be unassuming, God loves you. Remember to give him up never, but on the contrary, to die entirely to yourlself to leave Him all place (“I am crucified with Christ, and if I saw, it is not any more me, but it is Christ which lived in me; and if I still lived in the flesh, I lived in faith to the God Son who loved me, and who devoted himself to me himself for. ”) read 1 Kings 8 who relates the request of Salomon during the dedication of the temple and is very touching concerning the subject of this text. I could start to describe all that is good to make and is nice to him, and I would much more like that you try yourlself to serve it, with ardour and passion, Shone the alone true God. In his Word, the Bible, the King of kings transmitted it to us of a much better way than what I could describe in this text. Because so said the Eternal, who formed sky, him, the God who formed the earth and who made it, him who founded it; who did not create it to be uninhabited, but which formed it to be lived: I am the Eternal, and there is not other one! [] look towards me and be saved, to you all ends of the earth! Because I am God, and there is not other one. The one who will advance in the work of the Lord can have the air of a madman with the eyes of the world. A true Christian school will not be necessarily most popular of the corner or the best humanly speaking, she could be big or small, last for a long time or only some years, all these things matter not much. What is really important it is that she acts of a way which pleases God. “I said to you these things, so that you have peace in me; you will have affliction in the world; but take courage, I conquered the world. In summary, this essay worked out on lesson that they withdraw from what arrived at several American Christian schools, the choice of the way of the rebellion towards God, temptations to which several succumb and to finish, on the decision not to abandon God whom the persons of schools have to take. To answer question of why many Christian schools abandon the Lord gradually, let us conclude that it is because the human beings choose to act so. God is sovereign and in his Omnipotence, he found good to leave the man free to turn to him or to sin. I would have been able to try to work out more by trying to understand why the man made often the bumptious choice to turn away from God. However, I chose consciously not to venture more deeply into this question. Because having understood that this abandonment was neither an error on behalf of God who is sovereign, nor a sensible act, but rather the result of our own bumptious rebellion, I preferred continuing knowing why in the sense of how the Christian schools are possible be enticed by the world. I found it more pertinent and practical to give answer about this text so as to inform people of danger who watch for these and finally, to write on good decision to be taken. To end, I leave you an evaluation, a personal request, and an exhortation. Then, particular gratitude to the fundamentalist Christian University of Bob Jones which was kind enough, in reply to my questions, to send me by post several materials on this subject which were very useful to me. It is to underline that I sent my questions in English in much more, given that they are majority, of universities (especially Americans) rather liberal, but prestigious and what in return, I practically did not receive information. Personally speaking, I would like that my brothers and sisters in Christ pray for me. Because by writing this essay, I augmented my understanding and by it my capacity to be well judged if this or that way is correct. So, if I move away from the good, I could more severely be judged than somebody who would make it in a less conscious way, since God judges the men of the way they make him. Finally, I deeply want that you turn to God. I plead you to live Christian life entirely. Bibliography of annotations at the bottom of page of this text.
